Supply Chain Advisor - West Africa - 2 years fixed contract.

What you'll do

• Lead technical workstreams within projects  
• Convert analysis into practical recommendations and tools  
• Ensure workstream outputs are fit for partner decision-making  
• Maintain technical quality and usability of deliverables  
• Assure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of partner and project data used in analysis and deliverables 
• Document methods, sources, and assumptions so that every analysis is transparent and reproducible by someone else 
• Escalate significant risks to the Regional Director

• Liaise with partner organizations to understand their needs and identify areas for improvement 
• Identify adequate solutions and support the implementation process while coordinating with the project team and various stakeholders 
• Apply your supply chain expertise to frame comprehensive projects and design technical approaches 
• Select appropriate frameworks and methods for tasks  
• Apply structured analysis and modeling to complex problems  
• Support national and local organizations to strengthen their own supply chain systems, in line with HELP's localization agenda for West and Central Africa 
• Ensure on-time delivery of project deliverables and monitor project budget 
• Support the Regional Director in structuring project work plans 
• Identify opportunities for collaboration and support the Regional Director in project and partner acquisition efforts in the region

• Deliver and facilitate capacity-strengthening activities (trainings, workshops) for partner organizations, and transfer tools, templates, and methods to build lasting partner ownership 
• Mentor and provide on-the-job guidance to Analysts and junior colleagues within assigned workstreams Tools, Systems, and Resources  
• Build dashboards, analytical models, and calculators for projects  
• Test tools with the partner staff who will use them, and refine them on what they tell you 
• Contribute to organization-wide technical toolkits 
• Support updates to methods, templates and instructions  
• Capture lessons learned from each engagement so that the region's methods and templates improve

• Decides: Choice of analytical methods, frameworks, and tools used within assigned workstreams; day-to-day prioritization of workstream tasks; content and structure of recommendations and technical deliverables before internal review. 
• Escalates: Changes to project scope, budget, or timeline; new partnership commitments or agreements; risks with reputational, financial, or safeguarding implications; decisions affecting other workstreams or regions.

• Master’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, operations strategy, or a related field
• 4-6 years in supply chain consulting, operations or technical advisory roles 
• Demonstrated ability to lead analytical assessments 
• Strong project planning, management, communication and coordination skills (with technical staff as well as senior management) 
• Proven ability to analyze, diagnose and solve (supply chain) problems at operational, tactical and strategic level 
• Familiar with political, cultural and economic situation in the West and Central Africa region
• Knowledge of customs and trade standards and practical exposure to import/export/transit processes across West and Central Africa 
• Strong data processing skills including advanced use of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Tableau or Power BI.  
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize data and evidence, compare patterns across contexts, and translate findings into clear communication towards humanitarian, government, commercial and donor stakeholders.
• A collaborative and candid working style, evidenced by raising problems early, changing your own position when the evidence changes, and delivering without close supervision in a small team 
• Fluency in English & French  

• Existing relationships with regional (local) and international NGOs, UN agencies, or development partners in West and Central Africa 
• Demonstrated experience building technical capability in supply chain-related areas 
• Experience supporting the localization or nationalization of supply chain functions with national or local organizations 
• Track record of raising technical standards in advisory or consulting environments • Client-facing advisory experience in supply chain management
